Logic of Relatives (1870), more precisely, "Description of a Notation for the Logic of Relatives, Resulting from an Amplification of the Conceptions of Boole's Calculus of Logic", is a 60 page memoir by Charles Sanders Peirce, published in the Memoirs of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1870. The paper is one of the wellsprings of contemporary systems of logic.
After a brief account of its historical setting, the body of this article traces the outlines of Peirce's 1870 Logic of Relatives, noting a few of its more striking anticipations, interpreting its formulations with respect to the contemporary understanding of logic that it served to shape, and setting in higher relief a few of its promises that have yet to be taken up.
